I grew up hunting the pheasant fields and fishing the plentiful lakes of Wisconsin with
my father. I picked up a bow during my Senior year in college and for the past 18 years,
Iʼve been pursuing my passion for bowhunting. I hold a special place in my heart for
Midwest whitetails, but Iʼve also bow hunted elk, antelope, mule deer, bear, turkey,
African eland, hartebeest, blesbok and ostrich. From elk and deer to all types of upland
birds and waterfowl, I also enjoy rifle and shotgun hunting. Iʼve bowfished for buffalo
carp and look forward to more bowfishing adventures in Florida this summer.
Fishing comes in at a close second when it comes to my passions. From float plane
trips into the Canadian bush in search of monster pike and walleye, to fly fishing under
Montanaʼs Big Sky, I never pass down an opportunity to wet a line. Top water bass
fishing is another favorite of mine and this past year I had the amazing opportunity of
tiger fishing on the Crocodile River in Africa.
When Iʼm not in the woods or on the water, Iʼm designing skulls for art galleries and
retail stores across the country. In 2007 I launched my website www.paintedskulls.com
where you can see various designs from painted and beaded to pheasant feathered
skulls. From antelope to zebra and every skull in between, I love bringing the outdoors
into my artwork. I also do custom designs for clients and itʼs so fun to hear the exciting
story behind every hunt or adventure.
Iʼm currently hosting my own hunting and fishing show called SKULL BOUND which
features a strong conservation message on every episode. From bowhunting Africa to
fly fishing under the Big Sky, our show is aimed at encouraging viewers to partake in our
countryʼs heritage of hunting, fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. Conservation is
another one of my passions and Iʼm currently a member of Safari Club International,
Pheasants Forever, National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, Horns N
Heritage, Sportsman For Wildlife, and Quality Deer Management Association. I often
donate skulls for their annual fund raisers and banquets which gives me the opportunity
to see the money raised go right back into conservation. Itʼs my goal that our show
SKULL BOUND portray the undeniable fact that hunters are true animal lovers,
stewards of the land and passionate about protecting and conserving our countryʼs
wildlife and habitat.
Iʼve been free lance writing for hunting websites and magazines since 2006 and my
articles have appeared in Bowhunter Magazine, Predator Xtreme and a variety of other
outdoor blogs. Iʼm a contributing writer for Womenhunters.com as well as
